Buried Connections: a Contemplation of Soil Layers in the Anthropocene (Handmade Paper and Prints)

My work is always about the interaction of humans and how they intentionally or unintentionally manipulate the environment around them, and nature’s reaction.

This work is about what humans have left behind in archeological layers over the millennia, from the Anthropocene to the present day.

The images (buried connections, broken arrows, pollen, a roman broach, dead cellulose, hypha fungi) are placed between cellulose layers, the paper pulp of various plant makeup, like the falling of leaves.
