In this exhibition, I fill the window at Box 13 with an alternate world of evolutions I have created from repurposed plastic and other mixed media.

A biennial of U.S. contemporary printmaking juried by Paola Morsiani, Director of the Brodsky Center at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Showcasing artists from around the United States who are pushing the boundaries of printmaking techniques and materials by creating innovative and challenging works.

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute is inaugurating an annual juried exhibition at the nexus of art and science, which seeks to discover the meaning of the phrase “Art that Matters to the Planet.”

On Saturday, October 8, Artpace Chalk It Up will welcome the community back to Houston Street to collaborate on large-scale chalk murals, participate in educational art activities, and meet artists working in our community. This year’s Chalk It Up theme is: The San Antonio River.

SAGA invites the public to view our member artists’ top achievements in fine art printmaking, in our annual exhibition held this year from October 24 – November 4 at the Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Avenue, New York NY 10003.

Red Dot is the Contemporary at Blue Star’s signature fundraiser, raising vital funds to support the breadth of our programs. The Contemporary at Blue Star’s annual Red Dot Show highlights San Antonio artists who contribute artworks benefitting the Contemporary’s year-round exhibitions and programs. Art sales equally benefit the Contemporary and the artist.

The Contemporary Print is a survey of traditional printmaking techniques and innovative approaches in contemporary printmaking. 2023’s juror is Rashaun Rucker.

Alchemy: Works on Paper features Latinx, Latin American, and Texas-based artists who work in a range of mediums including collage, drawing, painting, and printmaking. The exhibition demonstrates the power of the artist’s hand and the seemingly magical process of transformation that occurs in the creation of an artwork. The flexible quality of paper, and its two-dimensional constraints, is manipulated in this way to blur the realms of reality and fantasy.

In addition to having work included in this exhibition, Margaret Craig will take to the streets on March 18th, transforming herself into a creature of repurposed plastic in a performance reflecting the human impact on natural estuaries.

Lanterns, evolved from repurposed plastic and a creature animated by the artist, will move through the festival periodically, interacting with visitors.
