Margaret Craig – Etched Spores: Vinyl Cut Plate Collagraph

Learn how to transfer your drawings or photographs into stencils, drypoint and collagraph plates using a computer and an electronic stencil cutting machine.

The Cameo Silhouette stencil machine looks like a printer and is just as affordable. It uses a small blade to cut thin plastic sheets, cardstock, yupo, vinyl, and other materials. This workshop will give hands on instruction on how to cut and incise your image creating printing plates from this cutting machine. We will explore relief, drypoint and collagraph and give tips for using vinyl for a resist for etched plates and stencils for silkscreen. Participants will print with Akua inks and create intaglio and relief prints.
